Cord of Hope
Finding hope when you're at the end of your rope!
It was a cold rainy day out and as I sat in my bedroom, I could feel the vicious cycle of feeling hopeless begin to creep in. I heard that small but steady voice that I heard often whisper in my ear that I should just give up because nothing would ever change and that my life would always be this way.
It was at this moment that I was literally at the end of my rope!
I cried out to God in the only way that I knew how to and grabbed my Bible. I asked Him for a verse, something that I could hold on to. I closed my eyes, opened the Bible and put my finger down on the page. When I opened my eyes, I could see that my finger literally landed on Jeremiah 29:11.
"For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
I began to declare this verse out loud out of sheer desperation. I did it over and over and over every second that voice tried to get me to lose hope.
This verse became my anchor and to this day, there's zero room for hopelessness to come back because once we know the truth, it always sets us free!
It was at this moment that I was literally at the end of my rope!
I cried out to God in the only way that I knew how to and grabbed my Bible. I asked Him for a verse, something that I could hold on to. I closed my eyes, opened the Bible and put my finger down on the page. When I opened my eyes, I could see that my finger literally landed on Jeremiah 29:11.
Later, I learned that the hope in this verse in Hebrew is Tiqvah, which means
"Cord of Hope"
I've come a long way since that day. God has put me into rooms that I couldn't put myself in which has provided me with many tools that He can pull from for others to help them find their healing that only He can give.
